Description

Testo 410-1 Compact Vane Anemometer with Wind Chill & Beaufort

The Testo 410-1 is a standalone vane anemometer with its own backlit display, requiring no smartphone app or Bluetooth pairing. Its permanently mounted 30mm vane measures air velocity across the full range of 0.4 to 20 m/s, from slow-moving supply air at ventilation grilles through to brisk outdoor wind speeds.

It also measures temperature using an NTC sensor, ranging from -10°C to +50°C with ±0.5°C accuracy — enough for typical installation, commissioning and maintenance work. The integrated backlit display is what sets it apart from the app-dependent Testo 410i, making it usable in dark roof voids, poorly lit plant rooms or bright direct sunlight without needing a phone nearby.

Built-in Beaufort wind force and wind chill calculations extend its usefulness to outdoor surveys, rooftop assessments and environmental work, alongside the single-point averaging, hold function and max/min recording engineers use day to day. Six velocity units and three temperature units mean readings can be presented in whatever format a client or specification requires without manual conversion.

At 110g and pocket-sized, it runs for an estimated 100 hours on three AAA batteries, and comes with a calibration protocol, protective cap and wrist strap.

Key Features & Benefits
  • Standalone Operation: Full functionality via its own backlit display, with no smartphone pairing or app required.
  • Permanently Mounted 30mm Vane: Integrated into the instrument body, with nothing separate to attach, lose or damage.
  • 0.4–20 m/s Velocity Range: Covers low-velocity supply air through to higher-speed outdoor conditions, with 0.1 m/s resolution.
  • Beaufort Wind Force & Wind Chill Calculations: Built-in functions for outdoor surveys and environmental assessments.
  • Six Velocity Units: Switch between m/s, km/h, fpm, mph, kts and Beaufort to match client or specification requirements.
  • Single-Point Averaging: Calculates a time-averaged mean automatically, reducing error from fluctuating readings.
  • Hold & Max/Min Recording: Freeze the display or capture peak and minimum values without watching the screen continuously.
  • Backlit Display: Readable in low-light conditions such as roof voids, plant rooms and cellars.
  • 100-Hour Battery Life: Runs on three standard AAA batteries.
  • Calibration Protocol Included: Ships ready for professional use with traceable documentation.
Ideal For
  • HVAC engineers commissioning or maintaining ventilation systems and air handling units.
  • Building services professionals checking airflow at grilles, diffusers and air outlets.
  • Surveyors and consultants carrying out outdoor wind velocity or environmental assessments.
  • Engineers who prefer a self-contained instrument over one that depends on a smartphone app.
  • Site operatives needing a pocket-sized tool for quick, reliable airflow checks.
  • Facilities management teams conducting routine ventilation performance checks.
Why Buy This Product?

The 410-1 sits between basic meters and the app-dependent 410i, giving engineers a reliable self-contained instrument without needing a smartphone on site. The Beaufort and wind chill calculations aren't just extras — they save time and reduce reliance on external conversion references during outdoor work such as rooftop surveys or environmental assessments. At 110g and pocket-sized, with a realistic 100-hour battery life and included calibration documentation, it's ready for professional use straight out of the box.
