You're looking for a genuine replacement part for the Innovita Primo 6 & 11 instantaneous gas water heaters - well you need look no further for a new diaphragm push rod and disc. This pair is the key mechanical link between the diaphragm membrane and the gas valve - when the diaphragm flexes under water pressure, the push rod passes that movement on to the gas valve. If this bit goes wrong however, your gas valve won't open up even if the diaphragm itself is still in great nick. This part fits both Primo 6 & 11 models.
Common problems this part will fix
Your heater just won't ignite - even after a new diaphragm - this one's a classic. You think it's just the diaphragm that's the problem but the push rod is the next thing to check. If it's bent, worn or just plain broken, it won't send the right signal to the gas valve, and the valve won't open up.
Your gas valve is playing up - don't just replace the diaphragm and ignore the rest. If the push rod's damaged or not quite lined up right, the gas valve will only open partly or in fits & starts. This means the burner will fire weakly or stop working altogether.
You find a problem with the disc when servicing - sometimes this bit gets damaged and the disc can't properly seat against the gas valve. That leads to a partial or intermittent opening of the valve - so, no fuel getting through or leaking.
Push rod damage turns up when you replace the diaphragm - normally this is the job of the diaphragm and push rod to get replaced at the same time. If you just replace the diaphragm and don't bother with the push rod, you might end up with another problem to sort when you get back to do the push rod.
Ideal for
Fixing an ignition problem that refuses to go away after diaphragm replacement
Servicing the diaphragm assembly - do this alongside the diaphragm replacement for best results
