The Testo 750-2 is a two-pole digital voltage tester and the mid-range model in the Testo 750 series, adding an RCD trigger function, single-pole voltage testing and a built-in torch to the capabilities of the 750-1. As a two-pole tester, a probe is placed on each conductor to measure the voltage between them, confirming whether a circuit is live, what voltage is present, whether continuity exists, and the rotation direction of a three-phase motor.
Voltage is tested from 12V to 690V AC/DC, shown on the same patented all-round LED display used across the range, readable from any angle. Continuity testing covers up to 500kΩ, and rotating magnetic field testing runs from 100V to 690V AC at 50/60Hz for verifying three-phase motor rotation.
The RCD trigger function applies a 35mA load to the circuit to test RCD operation, with vibrating load buttons that give a tactile warning before the test fires, reducing the risk of accidental triggering. Single-pole voltage testing allows a quick check using one probe, with earth return through the user's body — useful for a fast socket or outlet check without connecting the second probe. It's worth noting that single-pole testing isn't suitable for confirming a circuit is de-energised; two-pole testing is required for that.
The built-in torch illuminates the measurement point in dark consumer units, distribution boards and wiring cabinets. It's rated CAT III 1000V and CAT IV 600V, IP64 for dust and splash resistance, and compliant with EN 61243-3:2010. Batteries, a measuring tip protector and measuring tip caps are included.
The RCD trigger function adds a genuinely useful capability over the 750-1, letting RCDs be tested without separate equipment, and the vibrating load buttons add a tactile safeguard against accidental triggering.
