Sievert 3940 Standard Burner 17mm – 394002 | 1.2kW | Brush-Type Flame | Pro 86/88
A 17mm standard burner with a brush-type flame for soft soldering, jewellery annealing and small heating applications on the Pro 86/88 system. Soft soldering to 12mm pipe diameter, silver soldering to 615°C. 1.2kW, 90g/h at 2 bar. M20 × 1 threaded connection. Fits Pro 86/88 neck tubes.
The 3940 is a standard burner — not a pin-point — despite having the same 17mm diameter as the 3938 and 3939. Where the pin-point burners concentrate heat into a very fine, precise flame, the 3940 produces a brush-type flame for even, all-round heat distribution. This makes it the correct choice for annealing gold and silver — where the brush flame distributes heat gently over the whole piece — and for small heating applications where a pin-point flame would be too concentrated.
At 1.2kW it has more output than both pin-point burners (3938 at 0.25kW and 3939 at 0.9kW) for the same 17mm head diameter. Cooksongold recommends the 3511 (70mm) neck tube for bench-level jewellery work with the 3940. Silver soldering capability extends to approximately 615°C.
