The reason you get this Gaslow filling kit in the first place is to fill your Gaslow refillable cylinder from LPG forecourt pumps without having to go through the hassle of getting to the cylinder inside your van. The recessed filler is fixed to the outside of your van - usually in the skirt with that 1.5m hose length - and the hose runs underneath the van to the 3/4" UNF connection on the cylinder's fill valve. You simply connect the LPG pump nozzle up to the Bayonet style pod, fill the van until the pump kicks in and the 80% shut-off kicks in and the pump clicks off. Once it's all done, you just unplug and replace the cap.
Installation requires a 70mm hole in the vehicle body. The filler housing is two-part and sandwiches the vehicle skin between the inner and outer sections, secured by the adjustable-length fixing screws supplied — which accommodate different vehicle wall thicknesses. The hose connects to the cylinder fill valve via 3/4" UNF fittings. For European LPG filling, the appropriate country-specific fill adaptor (sold separately) converts the Bayonet pod to the filling nozzle type used at European forecourts.
First fill notes: On the very first fill - the 80% shut-off may not activate sometimes - so keep an eye on it and stop the fill manually if you need to. Also, there might be some air trapped in the cylinder that could cause some lighting issues with your appliances - if that happens just open the cylinder valve up for a bit to let it out. Once it's done, have a good check of all the hose connections for leaks with some soapy water.
