The KOB emergency knock-off button is a manually operated emergency stop switch for gas safety control circuits. It is the remote emergency stop component used with commercial kitchen gas interlock systems (as required by BS 6173) and also for boiler house gas valve control and fire valve control circuits. Pushing the red button cuts the electrical supply to the connected gas valve, fire valve or accessory equipment — rendering it safe. Resetting requires a deliberate manual action (twist clockwise) to prevent inadvertent reactivation after an emergency. The double-insulated enclosure with 20mm knockouts mounts in a wall-mounted or panel-mounted box. EN 60947-5-1 is the European standard for low-voltage switchgear and control gear.
