This gas underground marker tape carries a continuous "CAUTION BURIED GAS MAIN" warning printed the full length of the roll, laid in the trench above a buried gas main during backfilling to give excavators a visual warning before they reach the pipe itself. It's non-detectable, meaning it contains no metal wiring and can't be traced with cable locating equipment — suited to installations where a visual warning during excavation is all that's needed, rather than the ability to trace the route from the surface.
The tape doesn't attach directly to the pipe.
