Rigid gas pipework means a lot of cutting, bending and jointing, and every extra joint is another place a leak could develop. Gastite's flexible stainless steel tube replaces long runs of rigid pipe with a single length that can be routed round obstacles, so there are fewer joints to make and check.
This contractors kit includes 10m of DN25 corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) in 1.4306 (304L) stainless steel, with a UV-resistant polyethylene outer jacket, and two XR2 straight 1" BSP male thread fittings with Jacket-Lock®. The fittings are mechanical, so there's no welding or soldering to the tube. The tube is Kitemarked to BS EN 15266, with a maximum operating pressure of 0.5 bar for natural gas and LPG, and operates from -40°C to 60°C. It has been fire tested at 820°C for 89 minutes under EN 1775:2007 Annex A.
Gastite CSST is for gas supply to an appliance and is not suitable for use as a flexible appliance connector. It must be installed in accordance with Gastite's installation instructions, and only with Gastite XR2 fittings. Gas work must be carried out by a suitably qualified, registered gas installer in accordance with the relevant standards.
