A buried gas valve needs to be reachable when you need to shut the gas off, and the lid has to show what it covers. This Talbot push-fit chamber gives access to an underground MDPE stop valve through a surface box set into the ground, with a lid marked for gas.
The chamber has a large base for stability and can be dismantled, so it’s easy to handle and the tube can be cut down to the height you need. It’s supplied with a base plate, a surface box mounting plate, a surface box and a 700mm tube. The overall height from the base to the top of the surface box is 920mm, the tube diameter is 170mm and the surface box opening is 100mm x 100mm.
The stop valve isn’t included. Check the valve size against the chamber before you order. This is a protective chamber and doesn’t carry gas pressure. Gas work must be carried out by a suitably qualified, registered gas installer in accordance with the relevant standards.
When a gas stop valve is buried, this chamber keeps it reachable from the surface, with a lid that marks the service. It comes as a complete set, it can be cut down to the depth you need, and the large base keeps it stable.
