A 45° elbow lets you change direction gently, and for gas pipework the fitting has to be made for gas. The Pegler Yorkshire VSH XPress Gas Obtuse Elbow is an SG21 copper 45° elbow with press ends on both sides, for 15mm copper tube on internal and external above-ground 2nd and 3rd family gas installation pipework, which means natural gas and LPG. A standard elbow turns the pipe by 90°, and this one turns it by 45°.
It’s BSI Kitemark approved to BS 8537:2010, with DVGW, INIG, KIWA and OVGW approvals listed by Pegler. A yellow HNBR O-ring and a permanent yellow gas marking identify it as a gas fitting. It’s for use with BS EN 1057 R250 and R290 copper tube with M-profile jaws, and it carries Pegler’s 25-year guarantee when used with copper tube to BS EN 1057 (conditions apply).
Pegler gives the working pressure as 1 bar inside buildings and 5 bar outside buildings (maximum test pressure 7.5 bar), at -20°C to 70°C. Gas work must be carried out by a suitably qualified, registered gas installer in accordance with the relevant standards.
