Where yellow MDPE gas pipe rises above ground, for example from a buried run up to a meter box, the exposed pipe needs protecting from knocks, weather and sunlight. This GRP riser sleeve fits around 20mm or 25mm MDPE gas pipe and gives it a tough external layer.
It’s made from glass reinforced plastic (GRP) in white, with a 32mm inside diameter and a 38mm outside diameter. It’s supplied in 1 metre lengths that can be cut to size on site. Provides external protection against physical damage, UV rays and environmental wear.
The sleeve pairs with the 38mm preformed PVC gas bend (HA2523), which accepts 38mm GRP protective pipe at the turn from a buried run to the riser. The sleeve protects the pipe and doesn’t carry gas pressure. It must be fitted by a suitably qualified, registered gas installer in accordance with the relevant standards.
