The long cutting edges make them ideal for cutting cable, and the carefully machined edges enable even very fine stranded wire to be cut accurately, right up to the tips — a genuine advantage where space is restricted, such as shortening fine stranded wires in junction boxes and distribution boxes.
Forged from vanadium electric steel and hardened through warming then quenching in oil, the cutting edges are additionally induction-hardened to approximately 62 HRC for a permanently accurate cut. Chrome plating gives effective rust protection, useful during outdoor use, and makes the tool particularly easy to clean.
Induction-hardened cutting edges at approximately 62 HRC give a genuinely long-lasting sharp edge, capable of clean cuts right to the tip even on fine stranded copper wire — a real advantage when working inside a cramped junction box.
