Rigid gas pipework means a lot of cutting, bending and jointing, and every extra joint is another place a leak could develop. Gastite’s flexible stainless steel tube replaces long runs of rigid pipe with a single length that can be routed round obstacles, so there are fewer joints to make and check.
This 45m coil of DN32 corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) is 1.4306 (304L) stainless steel with a UV-resistant polyethylene outer jacket. It’s Kitemarked to BS EN 15266, with a maximum operating pressure of 0.5 bar for natural gas and LPG, and operates from -40°C to 60°C. The tube has been fire tested at 820°C for 89 minutes under EN 1775:2007 Annex A. A coil suits longer runs and larger jobs, where you cut the length you need and fit matching connections.
This is tube only. It’s used only with Gastite XR2 fittings with Jacket-Lock®, which are bought separately. Gastite CSST is for gas supply to an appliance and is not suitable for use as a flexible appliance connector. It must be installed in accordance with Gastite’s installation instructions. Gas work must be carried out by a suitably qualified, registered gas installer in accordance with the relevant standards.
For longer, larger-bore gas runs, a 45m coil lets you cut exactly the length you need without joining shorter pieces. The tube is flexible, so you need fewer fittings than with rigid pipe, and it comes with a Kitemark to BS EN 15266 and a stated 0.5 bar working limit.
