8mm (5/16") Brass Olive - The Trailing Part You Need For Truma Gas Manifolds
A shouldered brass compression olive for those all important 8mm (5/16") copper gas pipe connections on your Truma, Cavagna or Continental gas manifolds. Think of it as the make-or-break seal that prevents gas leaks. You'll find it as Truma part number 0717100V. They're sold individually, so you only need to buy as many as you need.
When you're trying to connect that 8mm copper gas pipe to a Truma-style gas manifold - or to a Cavagna or Continental one with the same 8mm compression port - this olive sits between the compression nut and the manifold fitting. As you tighten the nut the olive gets squished against the pipe fitting and you get a gas-tight seal around the pipe. Crucially, you'll need to replace the olive whenever a compression joint on the gas manifold gets disturbed. Once it's been squished down tight to a particular pipe or fitting its got no alternative but to be replaced because once it's been squished it's deformed and will never seal properly again if you try to remove and reuse it.
