Cadac Trio Power Pak , 3 Cartridge Portable Gas Supply with Storage Bag
You get around 7 hours of cooking gas from 3 of those 227g cartridges - no need to lug a big cylinder or buy gas in bulk. The Cadac Trio Power Pak is a neat little self-contained gas supply for camping, caravanning and general outdoor cooking. It's got a easy hose connection to the main unit, a handwheel tailpiece on the other end to screw onto your BBQ, a removable back panel for chucking in fresh cartridges, and it all comes in a nice storage bag too. Not really cut out for BBQs with the push-button quick release connectors though.
The Trio Power Pak slots in nicely between a single cartridge setup and a full on dual cartridge rig - 3 of those 227g cartridges tucked away in a compact housing will give you about 7 hours of cooking gas for smaller BBQs. And it keeps all the benefits of cartridge gas (portability, ease of use) and none of the hassle or weight of having to carry around a big cylinder.
Just pop the back panel off and chuck the 3 new cartridges in - job done. The 100cm hose attaches to the main unit via a quick release coupling that makes it a breeze to pull away from the BBQ and chuck it in the bag when you're all done. The other end connects to your BBQ with a standard hand-tighten tailpiece - tighten it up to cook and loosen it up to pull away. The storage bag keeps the whole thing tidy and protected when you're not using it. At 1.55kg and 26 × 25 × 16cm it's a bit bigger than a single cartridge supply but loads lighter and easier to lug around than any refillable cylinder option.
Important: The 3 x 227g gas cartridges aren't included with the kit. And it's not suitable for BBQs with that push-button quick release connector - for those, the Cadac Dual Power Pak QR is a better bet. Always check the connections before you start cooking to make sure there aren't any leaks.
